Chris started what is now Blue Point Strategies, LLC, a business consultancy, in 1984. He works with business owners who are struggling with the business part of running a business. From startups to turnarounds, Chris works with owners of small business to develop strategies and systems to allow owners to achieve the financial success that drove them into business in the first place. Blue Point Strategies offers workshops, classes and one-on-one coaching to assist business owner achieve their dreams.
He has a background in corporate finance and operations serving in various direct capacities including CFO of the nation's largest privately-held insulation and construction products distributor, credit manager for the US division of a multi-national construction products manufacturer and director of a small plastics manufacturing business. He has over 27 years of successful experience managing startups and turnarounds of large and small businesses as well as financial analysis, budget formulation, strategic planning, team building and risk management. Chris has managed small businesses, wrestled with unreasonable demands from banks and struggled with cash flow to make payroll. He understands the needs of and demands on small business owners.
Chris started his consulting career as a real estate appraiser focusing on income, commercial and industrial properties. He has held a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license in Alabama and Indiana. His consulting experience ranged from advising individual clients on real estate financing and development activities, managing startups and turnarounds of small businesses and site selection expansion activities with a major Japanese automaker and Tier 1 auto suppliers.
He has served on local planning and zoning commissions and development authorities giving him an insight and understanding of dealing with local cities and towns to further his clients' needs. Chris also serves as a business coach for a local entrepreneurial development center.
